About the place
Jarabacoa, often called the city of eternal spring, is a mountain oasis surrounded by towering peaks and vibrant green valleys. Here flows the Río Yaque del Norte, the longest river in the country, which is ideal for thrilling river rafting adventures. With its stunning waterfalls and lush landscapes, Jarabacoa is a refreshing escape into Dominican nature.
Itinerary
Our day begins early in the morning as we set off on a scenic drive through the breathtaking northern mountain range of the Dominican Republic. After approximately 2.5 hours, we arrive at the Río Yaque del Norte in Jarabacoa, the best place for river rafting in the country
At 10:00 AM, the professional rafting guides will welcome us, and our rafts will be ready and waiting. Then it’s time for 1.5 hours of pure adrenaline and fun as we navigate the lively rapids of the Yaque del Norte. Throughout the experience, plenty of photos and videos will be taken.
Back at the basecamp, we enjoy a well-deserved Dominican lunch and take some time to relax before continuing our adventure.
Our next stop is the stunning Jimenoa II Waterfall, one of Jarabacoa’s most iconic natural wonders. A short 10-minute walk brings us right to the foot of this impressive cascade. Those who feel like cooling off again can enjoy another refreshing swim in one of the calm natural pools or small river “beaches” nearby.
With hearts full and bodies refreshed, we begin our drive back home, ending a day filled with adventure, nature, and unforgettable moments in the mountains of the Dominican Republic.
