About the place
Veragua’s beaches are nothing short of magical, a perfect blend of golden sand, turquoise waters, and rolling waves framed by lush tropical scenery. The area’s untouched beauty and authentic rural charm make it one of the most unforgettable beach-riding destinations in the Dominican Republic. Riding along the shoreline here isn’t just an activity, it’s a moment of freedom and pure connection with nature.

Itinerary

Our day begins at the Green Office of Rancho El Contento, set among peaceful fields, green hills, and farmland. Here, you’ll meet your friendly, well-cared-for horses and receive a short introduction before setting off on your riding adventure.

The journey takes us through Veragua’s scenic countryside, where you’ll experience the authentic Dominican way of life. Soon, the trail opens up to the beach, where you’ll feel the fresh ocean breeze and the thrill of your horse’s hooves splashing through the waves.

We’ll pause along the way to enjoy a refreshing drink and take in the magic of riding by the sea. After approximately three hours on horseback, we’ll return to the ranch, full of joy and a deep sense of connection with nature.

Next, we’ll head to the Rugama Ecolodge, where a delicious traditional Dominican lunch awaits. While your meal is being prepared, Rudy, the ecolodge’s knowledgeable owner, will guide you through his tropical garden, sharing fascinating insights about local plants — including their healing, culinary, and cultural uses — and introducing you to the lodge’s friendly animal residents like iguanas and crocodiles.

Lunch is served in a charming treehouse setting, surrounded by nature and a refreshing breeze. Afterward, you’ll have time to relax by the ecolodge’s pool, soaking in the peaceful atmosphere.
After a day filled with adventure, nature, and authentic local charm, we’ll head back home — refreshed, inspired, and with unforgettable memories.
