Monte Cristi is a truly magical destination. Nestled in the far northwest of the Dominican Republic, its remote location keeps it beautifully untouched — a rare treasure still undiscovered by most travelers and even many locals. Here, nature reigns supreme: the dramatic northern coastal mountain range meets the sea at the striking El Morro Mountain, creating a landscape unlike anywhere else in the country. 

 

Itinerary

Our adventure begins at Monte Cristi National Park, home to the iconic El Morro Mountain. A short 12-minute hike brings you to breathtaking panoramic views of the coastline and endless ocean — a perfect spot for your first memorable photos.

Next, we visit the boat harbor, where a speedboat awaits to take us deep into the mangroves of the national park. We’ll stop at the famous swimming platforms, where you can dive into refreshing natural pools surrounded by pristine nature.

From there, we head out to the open sea toward the Grand Grossier Sandbank, a dazzling stretch of white sand surrounded by turquoise waters. It’s the ideal place for stunning photos — swinging, walking, or even dancing in the middle of the ocean!

Continuing our journey, we cruise past El Morro and stop at Cabra Island, where we explore the island’s salterns and take a relaxing stroll through this fascinating natural landscape.

Finally, we return to the harbor, where a delicious local meal awaits — the perfect ending to an unforgettable day before we head back home.
